The Goodstart Early Learning Centre skilfully raises the bar for the emerging typology of indoor play spaces. Clever, collaborative thinking by the design team overcome a suite of challenges associated with the CBD location to bring the wonders of the natural world indoors.
Challenging the childcare centre norm, explorative play experiences have been created with undulating floor levels, vegetation, water, timber and stone that seem at home within the central atrium play space. This project provides a great example of landscape architecture playing a leading role in influencing the layout and style of the classrooms and creating a unique, interesting and educational indoor play space and roof garden.
