The specialist heritage team initiated a program to support the nomination of cultural landscapes for the NSW State Heritage Register (SHR).

The project motivates dialogue about cultural landscapes, their management and importance as valued places. The project team presented an innovative methodology and provided evidence of multilayered engagement with the NSW Heritage Division throughout the process.

This project is highly replicable, and the jury is certain it will inform future cultural landscape studies. The jury panel were deeply impressed by the breadth, depth, and scope of this project. It is innovative, novel, and scalable. Impressively, it serves as a model for 21st century notions of heritage and cultural landscape envisioning connectivity and regional scale landscape amenity for green corridors and connectivity as well as individual projects and sites of note.
