Cooks to Cove Greenway
This project delivers a new benchmark for regenerating underutilized blue-green infrastructure corridors.
It links Cooks River to Iron Cove on Sydney Harbour with 5.8 kilometres of park, threading together a delightful sequence of recreational parkland, ecological restoration areas and cultural precincts. The jury acknowledged the magnitude of community consultation and the meaningful involvement of volunteers and council staff.
The combination of active transport, environmental performance and cultural enhancement elevates the project from standard infrastructure delivery to a comprehensive place making initiative.
